Basketball Recap: Bethel Baptist Academy Takes a Loss

Bethel Baptist Academy was the 47-43 winner over Solid Rock Christian School when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bethel Baptist Academy Miners took a 49-34 bruising from the Solid Rock Christian School Swordsmen on Monday.

When it comes to explaining why Bethel Baptist Academy lost, don't look at Nathan Stahl. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. The match was Stahl's fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Solid Rock Christian School found their leader in sophomore Drew Reese, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reese has scored all season. Josh Bewley was another key player, putting up 13 points and seven rebounds.

Bethel Baptist Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Solid Rock Christian School, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethel Baptist Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bible Baptist Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 24th. Solid Rock Christian School will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Independent Baptist Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th.
