The South Pasadena Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Temple City Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Pasadena has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,703 points over their last 23 games.
Even though South Pasadena has not done well against La Canada recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. South Pasadena came out on top against La Canada by a score of 65-61 (the very same score they lost by the week prior). Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
South Pasadena can attribute much of their success to Jack Madison, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and two steals, and Derek Peterson, who scored 29 points. Peterson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Martinez, who scored seven points along with seven assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Temple City pushed their score all the way to 72 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Blair on the road by a decisive 91-72 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (59), Temple City still had to take the loss.
South Pasadena has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Temple City, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for South Pasadena against Temple City in their previous matchup on January 10th as the squad secured a 70-33 victory. Does South Pasadena have another victory up their sleeve, or will Temple City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
