Volleyball Recap: Aragon Find Success

Aragon won the last time they faced Mercy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Dons came out on top against the Bears by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dons.

Aragon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-11, 25-18, 25-17.

Emilia Kunkel paced Aragon's offense, picking up 13 kills. Kunkel got some help from Devyn Lee and her 19 assists. Lee was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isabella Reyes, who had 17 assists and ten digs. Alyssa Trehan was another key player, getting five digs and three aces.

Aragon's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Mercy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Aragon and Mercy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Dons will face off against rival Carlmont at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mercy is set to take on their familiar foe Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
