V Section I recap Oct. 23, 2012
Pinon extended the longest winning streak in V Section I this week by beating Ganado, 30-8. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Eagles.
St. Johns took down Alchesay 52-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Hopi's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bruins feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Allen Joshevama has thrown for 1206 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Blake Sekaquaptewa has 33 catches for 575 yards. Sekaquaptewa leads the league in rushing with 967 yards.
Hopi's Sekaquaptewa needs only 33 yards against Red Mesa next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Pinon takes on Red Rock. At the moment, Brad Burkhart's team is in second, while the Scorpions are in fourth.
The Redskins led V Section I in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on the Falcons.
