A Region II recap Oct. 3, 2012
Christ Church Episcopal extended the longest winning streak in A Region II this week by beating McCormick, 42-7. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Cavaliers.
Southside Christian and Calhoun Falls Charter played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Southside Christian eventually emerging with a 8-2 victory. John Walker threw for 82 yards and one touchdown in the win.
The Sabres' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Justin Best chipped in 21 yards. Parker Howard helped Southside Christian's passing attack out by catching two balls for 18 yards.
Colby Boggs made the biggest impact on defense this week as Southside Christian topped the Blue Flashes. The junior grabbed one interception.
Best was the best wideout in the league this week as Steve Lockwood's team defeated Calhoun Falls Charter. Best racked up one reception for 20 yards.
The Sabres' Walker and Boggs have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading A Region II in both passing and receiving yards. Walker has thrown for 1567 yards this season, while Boggs has 45 catches for 582 yards. Whitmire's Sam Miller leads the league in rushing yards with 189.
St. Joseph's Catholic led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Dixie.
