Highland Home has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 248 points over their last four games.
Last Saturday, everything came up roses for Highland Home at home against Elba as the squad secured a 59-20 victory. Given Highland Home's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Elba is ranked 295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Shields beat Southside 54-47 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Shields.
Shields relied on the efforts of Jalance Kimbrough, who scored 15 points along with five assists, and Dante Leffall, who scored 16 points. The contest was Kimbrough's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cantangelo Hicks, who scored six points.
Highland Home's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Shields, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
