The Merit Preparatory Academy Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of American Heritage. Merit Preparatory Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mary Moody, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Ayla Coltharp, who scored nine points.

Merit Preparatory Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Freedom Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. American Heritage will be staying on the road on December 28th to face off against Summit Academy at 11:00 a.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Summit Academy is ranked 85th, while American Heritage is ranked 63rd).
