Huntington has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Wheeling Park Patriots at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Huntington earned a 79-66 win over Parkersburg.
Among those leading the charge was Mikey Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Avonte Crawford, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wheeling Park had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 79-72 victory over Weir. Given Wheeling Park's advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Weir is ranked 278th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The victory got Huntington back to even at 1-1. As for Wheeling Park, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.
