Putnam Science Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down Rocky Hill Country Day 52-33 on Monday.
Despite the defeat, Rocky Hill Country Day had strong showings from Addison Mahar, who scored nine points along with five rebounds, and Dariia Serednytska, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds.
Rocky Hill Country Day struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Rocky Hill Country Day's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.
Putnam Science Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hyde at 2:00 p.m. on February 17th. As for Rocky Hill Country Day, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome St. Andrew's at 3:00 p.m. on February 7th. Hopefully Rocky Hill Country Day focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Monday.
