Elgin came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the North Rock Creek Cougars.
Jaxon Southerland was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.
