Dixie and Crimson Cliffs are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Flyers will face off against the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dixie will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, Dixie got the win against Hurricane by a conclusive 14-2. Considering the Flyers have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ethan McArthur spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Weston Gilmore was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Dixie's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Hunt, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Dixie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Crimson Cliffs earned a 10-6 victory over Pine View on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won eight in a row.
The team relied heavily on JASON MCARTHUR, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was CUTTER CHRISTENSEN, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Crimson Cliffs pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Dixie, their record now sits at 14-9.
Dixie came out on top in a nail-biter against Crimson Cliffs in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flyers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
