With a playoff win on the line, St. Andrew's Episcopal rose to the challenge on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Loyd Star Hornets. Considering the Saints have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Cash Myrick made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marco Leflore, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Stone Myrick, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

St. Andrew's Episcopal pushed their record up to 20-8 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Loyd Star, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.

St. Andrew's Episcopal will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hornets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
