Emmett is 8-2 against Caldwell since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Huskies will venture away from home to take on the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Emmett will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Columbia on Wednesday. The Huskies put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 20-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won nine in a row.

Natalie Goslin made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, Ireland Riley was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lydia Andrews, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Emmett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .689. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Caldwell can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over Payette.
Like Emmett, Caldwell also got a great game from a two-way player: Khloe Arce. Throwing, Arce struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Rylie Felton didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Arce scored a run while going 2-for-5, while Felton scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Kloe Fogle and Payton Garcia did most of the damage at the plate: Fogle went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Garcia went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Makayla Curtis was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Emmett's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-7. As for Caldwell, their record is now 6-7.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Emmett hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Caldwell struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Emmett took their win against Caldwell when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 19-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
