Agoura is 8-1 against Royal since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Chargers will host the Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Agoura took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past El Camino Real 46-43. The victory was some much needed relief for the Chargers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Agoura to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lincoln Skope, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Crabtree, who scored 11 points and eight boards.
Meanwhile, Royal was able to grind out a solid win over Calvary Baptist on Saturday, taking the game 50-41.
Agoura better keep an eye on Lucas Markand. He was instrumental in Royal's win, almost dropping a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Markand posted three steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aaden Arteaga, who put up six points and three steals.
Royal now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Agoura, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's game: Agoura has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 34% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Royal, though, as they've only made 24.9% of their threes this season. Given Agoura's sizable advantage in that area, the Highlanders will need to find a way to close that gap.
Agoura beat Royal 76-65 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Highlanders' Ace Arnold, who went 8-for-18 en route to 25 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be easier for the Chargers to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
