Make it eight blowout wins for the East Columbus Gators this season. They claimed a resounding 65-10 victory over West Columbus at home. East Columbus' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
East Columbus' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malayah Hines, who scored 14 points along with five steals. Hines has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Malia J. Graham was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
East Columbus pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for West Columbus, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
East Columbus won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pender at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Pender will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
