The American Fork Cavemen will square off against the Skyridge Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
American Fork is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Pleasant Grove, who was ranked first at the time (American Fork was ranked third). The Cavemen blew past the Vikings 13-5 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavemen.
Tege Kelley looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, American Fork got a massive performance out of Beckett Hardman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two runs gave Hardman a new career-high. Harry Gardner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
American Fork was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasant Grove only posted a batting average of .250.
Meanwhile, Skyridge never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on Westlake with a sharp 10-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won five matches in a row.
Rip Roberts was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Roberts was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Skyridge: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, Kason Muhlestein was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Boston Sundberg, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Skyridge pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for American Fork, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. American Fork has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455. However, it's not like Skyridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .461. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went American Fork's way against Skyridge in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as American Fork made off with an 11-3 win. Do the Cavemen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
