The Aquinas Academy Crusaders lost against the Imani Christian Academy Saints back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Aquinas Academy was dealt a 80-48 defeat at the hands of the Saints. While losing is never fun, Aquinas Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while the Saints are ranked 159th).
Nate Brazil was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 13 assists for Imani Christian Academy. It was the first time this season that Brazil posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Wesley, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Aquinas Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Imani Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-10 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aquinas Academy will take on the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Imani Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Neighborhood Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 430 points over their last six matchups.
