The West Holt Huskies can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. Everything went their way against Neligh-Oakdale as West Holt made off with a 68-43 victory. Winning may never get old, but West Holt sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Zach Hooey was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. He also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Konrad, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Neligh-Oakdale lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chase Furstenau. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That was a full 65.1% of Neligh-Oakdale's points, marking the 13th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Neligh-Oakdale struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They are winless (0-4) when they just don't pass the ball.
West Holt's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Neligh-Oakdale, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
West Holt will face off against Stuart at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Stuart is ranked 108th, while West Holt is ranked 96th). As for Neligh-Oakdale, they will head out on the road to challenge Madison at 7:45 p.m. on Monday.
