The Eastside Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Carvers Bay Bears at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eastside comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Tuesday, Eastside suffered a tough 67-42 defeat at the hands of Chilhowie. While losing is never fun, Eastside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Chilhowie is ranked 84th).
Meanwhile, Carvers Bay was the victim of a rough 53-32 defeat at the hands of Goose Creek on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Carvers Bay has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Carvers Bay had strong showings from Jaylon Gause, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds, and Jaquan Hannah, who scored five points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
