After each having a week off, the Upperman Bees and the White County Warriors will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
If Upperman beats White County with 49 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Bees blew past York Institute 49-14 last Friday. The Bees haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Upperman had a senior duo take command as Carmine Phillips gained 100 total yards and Bronzdon Chaffin threw for 233 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 81.8% of his passes. Chaffin's passing game has become a key predictor of the Bees' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. 80 of Chaffin's passing yards were hauled in by Elijah Fitts, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Meanwhile, White County's matchup last Friday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They blew past DeKalb County 31-7.
Upperman better keep an eye on Cole Sims. He was instrumental in White County's win, rushing for 194 yards and two scores while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Sims' longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jojo Dowell, who rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown.
White County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 324 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 205 rushing yards in six consecutive contests.
White County's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Upperman, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Upperman has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 222.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like White County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 248.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Upperman against White County when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-7 win. Do the Bees have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
