Ithaca (Mich.) snapped
Shelby (Mich.)'s 5-game winning streak, with a 31-14 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Jacob Barnes touchdown pass to
Caden Kipp in the first quarter, the Yellowjackets led 14-0 at the half.
Ithaca expanded its lead to 24 points entering the fourth quarter. IHS scored two times in the third, including once on a
Travis Smith touchdown pass to
Jared Evers.
With the win the Yellowjackets extended their winning streak to 13 games. Ithaca defeated the Rams 31-0 last week.
Smith stood out for IHS in the win. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 16 touchdowns on the season.
The Yellowjackets went into the matchup giving up only 5.8 points per game. The Tigers came in allowing just 13.1 points per game this season. Shelby struggled against Ithaca's offense, which entered the game scoring 50.5 points per game.
The loss comes after Shelby defeated Negaunee 26-22 last week.
