The False River Gators lost against the Opelousas Catholic Vikings back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. False River ended up on the wrong side of a rough 75-51 walloping at the hands of the Vikings. False River has not had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Several Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Karson Lacombe, who scored 15 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Lacombe hasn't dropped below six steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Matthew Graffeo, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
False River has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-20 record this season. As for Opelousas Catholic, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-13.
False River will head out on the road to square off against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Catholic of Pointe Coupee is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Opelousas Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Crusaders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westminster Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
