Lexington waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Irmo Yellow Jackets with a sharp 60-37 win. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.
Lexington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Izzy Saville led the charge by putting up seven points in addition to ten assists and eight boards. The dominant performance also gave Saville a new career-high in blocks (four). Another player making a difference was Gabby Dunat, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.
Saville wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Lexington was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Irmo only posted six assists.
Irmo lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lailah Singletary, who had 11 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Livingston, who put up 15 points and three steals.
Lexington pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.2 points. As for Irmo, their record is now 9-6.
Lexington will head out on the road to square off against Chapin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lexington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Chapin likes a good challenge. As for Irmo, they will host River Bluff at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
