The Canton Golden Bears had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They took down Franklin Academy 53-34. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Canton also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Franklin Academy saw an underclassman step up: Bradley Poupore scored nine points along with two blocks. That's the first time this season that Poupore posted two or more blocks.
Canton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. As for Franklin Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
Canton will head out on the road to take on Massena at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Massena knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Canton likes a good challenge. As for Franklin Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Norwood-Norfolk at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
