Calaveras is a perfect 10-0 against Bret Harte since June of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Red Hawks will square off against the Bullfrogs at 5:00 p.m. Calaveras' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Bret Harte's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Calaveras and Linden had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Red Hawks fell just short of the Lions by a score of 4-2 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Red Hawks have suffered since May 9, 2024.

Kamryn Thornburg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Calaveras saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylie Shields, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Bret Harte won against Summerville on Wednesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Bullfrogs beat Riverbank by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 9-4. The win was familiar territory for the Bullfrogs, who have now won three matchups in a row.
The result came thanks to Madison Kane's shutout, as she gave up just seven hits and racked up ten Ks. Those hits were her first of the season.
Calaveras' loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4. As for Bret Harte, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Calaveras has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bret Harte struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Calaveras' way against Bret Harte when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Calaveras made off with a 10-1 victory. Do the Red Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bullfrogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
