Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The West Tallahatchie Choctaws walked away with it. They blew past Leake County 42-0 at home. 42 seems to be a good number for West Tallahatchie as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
West Tallahatchie was led to victory by Issac Day and Tristian Hill. Day rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, while Hill rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Hill was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards. Rosevelt Phillips made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
West Tallahatchie is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Leake County, their loss was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 2-9.
West Tallahatchie will take on Resurrection Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Leake County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
