The Buffalo Grove Bison will challenge the Saint Viator Lions at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Buffalo Grove will be strutting in after a win while Saint Viator will be coming in after a loss.
Buffalo Grove is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Rolling Meadows with a sharp 15-3 victory on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bison with their most commanding win of the season.
Sammie Kosnoff spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Erin Ryan was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayley Cohen, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Buffalo Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Saint Viator was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of IC Catholic Prep.
Maggie Ratzki was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Alexis Horn was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Buffalo Grove pushed their record up to 5-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Saint Viator, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
Everything went Buffalo Grove's way against Saint Viator in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, as Buffalo Grove made off with a 14-4 win. Do the Bison have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
