TAPPS Division II District 2 recap Oct. 16, 2012
Prince of Peace moved up to 842 from 914 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in TAPPS Division II District 2. The Eagles were able to make the jump by falling to Dallas Christian 56-0.
The Chargers extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Prince of Peace, 56-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for Dallas Christian.
Blake White and Kade Clayton gave Grace Community a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. White threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns, while Clayton ran for 144 yards. Teammate Garrett Newman added to the ground attack by rushing for 106 yards.
Tristan Saint provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Bishop Gorman lost to Parish Episcopal. He completed 26 passes for 256 yards and also ran for 13 yards. Saint's favorite target this week was Brandon Lackner, who caught eight passes for 104 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Saint of the Crusaders is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1249. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, the Cougars' Clayton has rushed for 803 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Clayton. The Grace Community star has 21 catches for 423 yards.
A big matchup in TAPPS Division II District 2 this week will be when Brook Hill takes on Mike Wheeler's team. As it stands, the Guard are in fourth, while the Chargers are in first.
The Panthers took down Bishop Gorman 63-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
