After losing to the Falkner Eagles the last time they met, the Hamilton Lions decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Hamilton came out on top against Falkner by a score of 61-48 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hamilton.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chris Nunley, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals. The matchup was Nunley's third in a row with at least ten points. Elijah Mauney was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with 7 rebounds.
Hamilton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Falkner, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-10 record last season and are now at 2-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton will square off against Hatley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hatley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Hamilton likes a good challenge. As for Falkner, they will head out on the road to face off against Byers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Byers presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Falkner in Mississippi (Byers is ranked 44th, while Falkner is ranked 234th).
