Softball Recap: Viola Has No Trouble Against Hillcrest

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Viola and Hillcrest meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Viola Longhorns blew past the Hillcrest Screamin Eagles 31-2. The win continues a trend for the Longhorns in their matchups with the Screamin Eagles: they've now won seven in a row.

Dana Wright was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryliegh Golden, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Viola's record is now 2-0. As for Hillcrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Viola will host Mammoth Spring at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hillcrest, they will welcome Sloan-Hendrix at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
