The McKeesport Tigers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Laurel Highlands by a score of 80-67 on Saturday. McKeesport's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Laurel Highlands' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Black, who scored 18 points. Black scored a full 26.9% of Laurel Highlands' points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Antwan Black was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
McKeesport's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Laurel Highlands, they have fallen quite a ways from their 25-4 record last season and are now at 2-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McKeesport will finish 2023 at home by hosting West Mifflin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Mifflin will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Laurel Highlands will finish 2023 at home by hosting Sewickley Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
