After a string of three wins, the Crazy Horse Chiefs's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to Lower Brule 53-49. Crazy Horse was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lower Brule apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Lower Brule's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quentin McBride Jr led the charge by scoring 16 points along with three steals. Lane Gray was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Crazy Horse's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Lower Brule, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crazy Horse on the road again on Friday and play against New Underwood at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Lower Brule, they will challenge Crow Creek at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crow Creek will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
