C2 District 5 recap November 19, 2013
Malcolm extended the longest winning streak in C2 District 5 this week by beating Centennial, 28-21. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Malcolm led the league in scoring this week after putting up 28 points on the Broncos. Tyler Webster threw for 56 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 56 yards in the win.
Kyle Gierhan threw for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 18-27 with 1 interception.
Gierhan put up the best numbers in passing as Centennial fell to Scott Amen's team. Gierhan's favorite target this week was Andew Heine, who caught 8 passes for 98 yards.
Evan Klanecky's team's Gierhan and Logan Clonce have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Gierhan has thrown for 1,615 yards this season, while Clonce has 27 catches for 654 yards. Joey Hagerbaumer from Twin River leads the league in rushing with 774 yards.
The Clippers made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,120 from 3,550. The advance stemmed from a 28-21 victory over the Broncos last week.
