The Scituate Spartans's 26-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 59-37 margin over St. Patrick Academy. Scituate's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Scituate's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cam Healey, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Healey has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andy Vigeant, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Scituate's win ended a 17-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-13. As for St. Patrick Academy, their loss was their 22nd straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scituate will take on Block Island at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. As for St. Patrick Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Smithfield at 7:00 p.m. North Smithfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
