The Hamilton Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Itasca Wampus Cats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Hamilton fought the good fight in their overtime game against Frost on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Polar Bears 59-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Hamilton got a solid performance out of Mike Bushnell, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Pierce Summers, who scored eight points along with three blocks.
Even though they lost, Hamilton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Itasca unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 42-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rio Vista. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Itasca has scored all season.
Hamilton's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Itasca, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6.
Hamilton came up short against Itasca when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 62-55. Can Hamilton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
