Mt. Shasta has gone a perfect 10-0 against Trinity recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolves at 2:00 p.m. Mt. Shasta has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight defeats, while Trinity will come in with three straight wins.
On Friday, Mt. Shasta came up short against Modoc and fell 8-4.

Emily Pigoni was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off only two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Pigoni wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaley Lanier, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Lanier has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.
Meanwhile, Trinity made easy work of Hayfork on Monday and carried off a 14-1 victory.
Like Mt. Shasta, Trinity also got a great game from a two-way player: Brynn Sommerfeld. On the mound, Sommerfeld struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Jessica Brown tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Sommerfeld got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Brown went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave Brown a new career-high.
In other batting news, Raegan Millette and Adriana Seele did most of the damage at the plate: Millette got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Seele got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Millette has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Hallee Prather, who earned one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Trinity always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Trinity's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mt. Shasta, they now have a losing record of 9-10-1.
Mt. Shasta was able to grind out a solid win over Trinity in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 14-11. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
