Rolla is on a 14-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while West Plains is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Rolla Bulldogs will take on the West Plains Zizzers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Rolla knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully West Plains likes a good challenge.
Last Thursday, Rolla didn't have too much trouble with Waynesville at home as they won 67-51. Given Rolla's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Waynesville is ranked 180th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rolla can attribute much of their success to Akaela Caquelin, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Willow Gideon, who scored 21 points along with five steals. Gideon hasn't dropped below 15 points for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Resa Martin, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, West Plains scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Parkview 77-23 at home. West Plains has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.
Rolla's victory bumped their record up to 19-2. As for West Plains, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Rolla came up short against West Plains in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, falling 53-40. Will Rolla have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
