After flying high against the Northeast Dubois Jeeps last Friday, the Orleans Bulldogs came back down to earth. Orleans fell just short of New Albany by a score of 51-48. It was the first time this season that Orleans let down their fans at home.
Orleans' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ian Hall, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Xavier Alston, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Orleans' defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for New Albany, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orleans will challenge Mitchell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Albany, they will head out on the road to face off against Evansville Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
