Summer vacations have ended - now it's time for corner kicks, throw-ins and goals being scored in the American states that play soccer during the fall.
MaxPreps, adidas and Dick's Sporting Goods have teamed up to bring you 20 of the nation's Early Contenders - 10 girls and 10 boys teams with solid soccer traditions that will battle it out for consideration as the top team in the land.
Our MaxPreps professional photographers have done photo shoots with each squad and we also will have video features to go with most teams' previews. It all equals the best high school soccer previews in the nation for the fall season, and your guide to some of the schools and players to watch for.

Three big-time star players have moved on after graduating, but there is a stable of players back who already know about the history and success the program is famous for. There will be very few easy games, but with coach Alberto Starace at the helm, the Knights should be up there in the national rankings.
