South Plantation had a senior duo take command as Austin Howe dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds and Kaiden Francis went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 3 assists. The match was Francis' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dwight Stephens, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Impact Christian Academy didn't have too much trouble with Westside on the road on December 14th as they won 66-50. Given Impact Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Westside is ranked 598th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ronald Clark and Wayne Johnson were among the main playmakers for Impact Christian Academy as the former scored 15 points along with seven steals and six rebounds and the latter scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Johnson scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Jackson, who scored six points along with six rebounds and four steals.
South Plantation's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Impact Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: South Plantation have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 29.5 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Impact Christian Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 18.8 rebounds per game.
