The Sweetwater Mustangs will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Big Spring Steers at 6:15 p.m.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Sweetwater, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-34 loss to Snyder. Sweetwater has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kendall Daniel, who scored six points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaidynce Tilley, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Big Spring's four-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They walked away with a 47-40 victory over Lake View. The victory was just what Big Spring needed coming off of a 78-30 loss in their prior match.
Sweetwater has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season. As for Big Spring, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-20.
Sweetwater came up short against Big Spring in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 33-27. Can Sweetwater avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
