Two dominant backs in Jack Edwards and Kaleb Willoughby are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Front Range Christian Falcons will be playing at home against the Byers Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Front Range Christian is ranked 19th, while Byers is ranked 11th).
Front Range Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by Lyons on the road and fell 66-12. The low total for Front Range Christian limited their streak of high-flying scores to three in a row.
Meanwhile, Byers put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 70-22 win over Justice on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 62-8.
Willoughby was his usual excellent self, rushing for 164 yards and four touchdowns on only six carries. Willoughby's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Chase Long was another key contributor, throwing for 95 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Front Range Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Byers, their victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1.
Front Range Christian couldn't quite finish off Byers in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 and fell 34-32. Will Front Range Christian have more luck at home instead of on the road?
