North Central AA Top Player Performances of the Week

Gannon Jacobson Earns League's Top Spot
Starting off the list is Southeast of Saline's Gannon Jacobson, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Jacobson rushed for 207 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 125 yards and three touchdowns. His longest rush was for an impressive 64 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
The win for Southeast of Saline keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Jacobson and Southeast of Saline will head out to take on Hillsboro at 5:03 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Performance from Nickolas Kendall Leads Republic County over Herington
On Friday, Republic County got the W thanks in part to Nickolas Kendall playing the best football he has all season. Kendall rushed for 83 yards, and also picked up 31 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Republic County's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. Kendall and Republic County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Valley Heights at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.

Big Game from Johnson As Ellsworth Won 14-6
Landin Johnson was instrumental in extending Ellsworth's winning streak to five on Friday. Nobody could stop Johnson as he rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 111 rushing yards dating back to last season.
For the season, Johnson has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 209.2 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he was only averaging 18 rushing yards per game.

Kash Henke Makes It Two for Republic County
The second Republic County player making an appearance here is Kash Henke, and for good reason. He rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 120 yards and a touchdown.
On the season, Henke has thrown 2 touchdowns (and no picks) while averaging 35.6 passing yards per game.

Dom Matteucci Makes Top Five
Rounding off our Top Five is Dom Matteucci of Sacred Heart. Matteucci picked up 59 receiving yards.
Sacred Heart dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Matteucci and Sacred Heart will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Herington at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.
