Basketball Recap: Twin Peaks Classical Academy Skates Past Poudre Community Academy with Ease

Twin Peaks Classical Academy's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 42-6 victory over the Poudre Community Academy Warriors. The Timberwolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 24 points or more this season.

Twin Peaks Classical Academy was led to victory by Fernanda Puerta-Sarinara and Kaleigh Van Pelt. Puerta-Sarinara posted ten points in addition to five boards and five steals, while Van Pelt scored 11 points. Imani Francis also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Twin Peaks Classical Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 34 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Poudre Community Academy lost, don't look at Hayden Belmont. Despite the final result, she had four points and three blocks. Belmont is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last eight games she's played.

Twin Peaks Classical Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.5 points per game. As for Poudre Community Academy, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Coincidentally, Twin Peaks Classical Academy and Poudre Community Academy will both be playing Golden View Classical Academy the next time they take the court. Poudre Community Academy will host Golden View Classical Academy on Monday, while Twin Peaks Classical Academy will host them on Wednesday.
