OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. - After swapping the lead three times,
Olive Branch (Miss.) took the lead for the win when
Dontavis Bruce ran for a touchdown in the third quarter, paving the way for victory over
Charleston (Miss.) 23-13.
The Conquistadors led 10-6 at halftime, but the Tigers regained the lead on a
Cortacio Curry touchdown run with 6:00 to go in the third.
Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and at the beginning of the fourth it was still a four point game.
Olive Branch led by as many as 11 points before Charleston cut into the final margin.
The loss comes after Charleston defeated West Tallahatchie 49-16 last week. The loss broke Charleston's two-game winning streak. The win brought Olive Branch's winning streak to three games.
Olive Branch (3-0) goes up against Longview in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Charleston (2-1) locks horns with Senatobia also in a non-conference game.
