Softball Recap: St. Mary Beats River Dell for Their Fourth Straight Victory

St. Mary had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the River Dell Golden Hawks. Considering the Gaels have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

St. Mary's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for River Dell, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.

Coming up, St. Mary will take on Cedar Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for River Dell, they will be playing at home against North Bergen at 4:30 a.m. on Monday.
