West Broward had won five straight road games dating back to last season and Alfonso Acosta did his part to make it six on Tuesday. The West Broward Bobcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the South Broward Bulldogs for which the team can thank Acosta, who had 32 digs and three aces. That's the most aces he has posted since back in March of 2024.
West Broward took South Broward into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-13, 25-23, 23-25, 15-10.
West Broward's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for South Broward, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
West Broward wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Somerset Academy on the 14th. As for South Broward, they will take on Cardinal Gibbons at 4:30 p.m. on March 18th.
