The Columbia Cougars will be playing at home against the University Phoenix at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Columbia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 170th, while University is ranked tenth).
Last Tuesday, Columbia took a serious blow against Immaculate Conception, falling 88-32. Columbia has not had much luck with Immaculate Conception recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, University came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against West Orange by a score of 64-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for University, their victory bumped their record up to 18-2.
