After flying high against the Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars last Friday, the Southeast Halifax Trojans came back down to earth. Southeast Halifax was dealt a 63-26 loss at the hands of the Vikings on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southeast Halifax in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Southeast Halifax lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kemorriya Evans. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Northwest Halifax had a senior duo take command as Camaya Adkins scored 20 points and Aleigha Allen dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Allen is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games she's played. Tatyanna McGee was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Southeast Halifax has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Northwest Halifax, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Southeast Halifax will stay at home for another game and welcome the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Weldon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Northwest Halifax, they will head out on the road to face off against the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northampton County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
