Decatur Central waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 48-10 win over the Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won five games by 38 points or more so far this season.

Bo Polston went supernova, rushing for 71 yards and two scores, while also throwing for 168 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.2% of his passes. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Decatur Central proved: they limited Franklin Community to a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. While 11 picked up at least one total tackle, Polston stood above the rest. He rushed for 71 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 168 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.2% of his passes. Decatur Central didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.5.

Decatur Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Franklin Community, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-5.

Decatur Central and Franklin Community will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Hawks see the field they'll take on North Central at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. As for Franklin Community, their break will end when they face East Central at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
